About APH

Since 1858, The American Printing House for the Blind (APH) has operated in Louisville, Kentucky as the world’s largest nonprofit organization creating accessible learning experiences through educational, workplace, and independent living products and services for people who are blind and visually impaired.

In 1879, APH was designated as the official supplier of textbooks and educational aids for students under college level, who are blind. Since then, we have expanded our reach to include early childhood outreach, and adult products for consumers who have vision loss.

APH has supported the InSights Art Competition and Exhibition since 1991.
